Log home designed and built by Braxton Dixon in 1997. It is constructed from poplar logs from two 19th century log homes from Alabama and Kentucky.

While we haven't been able to document this, previous owners have stated the mantel came from the home of the first govenor of Tennessee, John Sevier.

The third bedroom is entered from the second bedroom. It is currently configured as an office. Extra closets line both walls in the eaves.

When you get to the top of the shared driveway for 4404-A, 4404-B and 4404-C, you pass thorugh these gates.

There is a circular driveway with a landscaped island and pathway in the middle.

You can see the rear patio area and the new carport.

A major addition, this carport is constructed of reclaimed wood and features designer LED lighting.

Rather than just pour concrete, the owner used brick to form the parking pad.

There is parking around the circular driveway that would permit you to use the carport as a pavilion if you needed to entertain outside during inclement weather. And you'd have a beautiful view of the front pasture.

On a daily basis, you'll probably choose to enter the home through the red door to the living room. The patio is spacious.

Braxton Dixson's signature stone heart is visible at the top of both chimneys. The roof is a new 24-gauge standing seam room with 4" of insulation under it. The chimney caps and gutters with leaf guards are all new.

Entry from Long Hollow Pike. There is only about a mile of two-lane road before you reach the four-lane section of Long Hollow Pike. It is an easy drive to Nashville. You are also close to Hendersonville & Gallatin.

The road to the property has been newly paved.

The front property line is roughly where the mowing pattern goes from left to right. There is an extension for a private driveway to Long Hollow Pike down the rght side.

After purchase, the owner hired an engineer to design an improved drainage plan for the hill behind the home. The plan was completed, and you can see the drainage swale in this photo that directs any water runoff well to the right side of the home.

A creative masterpiece, this log home was designed and built in 1997 by famed local builder, Braxton Dixon. It is constructed of 19th century poplar logs from two different structues. The house has many architectural antique features, such as vintage leaded and stained glass windows, vintage doors, reclaimed wood and reclaimed brick floors. Dixon was a master stone mason, and the two wood burning fireplaces bear his signagure stone heart on the exterior chimneys. A gas line and gas log set was added to the living room fireplace for convenience. Two full- length covered porches overlook the 5. 02 acre lot. A new 2- car carport, constructed from reclaimed wood, was added by the current owner, along with updated landscaping features and drainage improvements on the hill behind the home. The driveway from Long Hollow Pike has been repaved. A new standing seam insulated metal roof and new gutters and chimney caps were recentely installed. New HVAC was installed in 2021 by the previous owner. The primary bath features antique claw foot tub and handmade tiles from Mexico.
